Sussex Wing Air Training Corps

Communications Training Team

ACF/CCF Signaller

Background Information

This is an optional topic and is counted as two modules.

A great deal of the work covered by the ACF/CCF scheme duplicates what is done in the ACO scheme; hence the double award. Many topics are not relevant to the ACO scheme however and the differences are more than enough to exclude the possibility of a direct equivalence.

A number of cadets have been incorrectly awarded the ACF/CCF badge as a result of a familiarisation visit to a signals unit or for attending an unauthorised course. For this reason, only awards approved by the ACF/CCF Communications Training Team, usually as a result of attendance at an extended course at the Royal School of Signals, are acceptable.

Enabling Objective

This qualification applies to those cadets of the CCF or ACF who hold the ACF/CCF Signallers badge on joining the Air Cadet Organisation or who, after joining, attend an accredited ACF/CCF course.

A photocopy of the Certificate of Award issued by the ACF/CCF Communications Training Team must accompany the application for the Communicator's Badge.

Details of courses and all other aspects of the ACF/CCF Signaller can be found at their website http://acfccfsignals.org.uk
